Differentiated on-level and Honors opportunities move learners through 7th & 8th grade, Algebra I & Geometry courses. Powered by Desmos classroom activities, whiteboard teamwork, and teacher mobility with iPads students are active learners in the classroom. Emphasis on reasoning and discourse prepares students to enter high school mathematics on the path that best fits their goals.

In the middle grades, students refine their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through engagement with diverse and increasingly complex texts. Emphasis is placed on critical reading strategies, analyzing the author’s purpose and perspective, and supporting claims with textual evidence. Writing instruction focuses on argumentative, informative, and narrative modes.

Students explore technical and creative fields such as robotics, engineering, photography, game design, and studio production. With access to cutting-edge robotics and engineering labs and a state-of-the-art television studio, they engage in real-world, project-based learning.

The 7–8 Science program emphasizes sensemaking and critical thinking through real-world problem solving, lab work, and modeling. Students explore electives like Biotechnology and Forensics and grow native plants in greenhouses as part of their ongoing environmental stewardship.

The 7–8 Social Sciences program challenges students to think analytically about historical events, government systems, and global interdependence through document analysis, research, and discussion.

The Holmdel Township Public Schools world language program empowers students to become confident, culturally aware global citizens through engaging and immersive language learning experiences. From foundational vocabulary to meaningful communication, students develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in languages that open doors to diverse cultures and communities.
